Maintenance on Pawsey systems will be carried out on Tuesday the 6th October to apply required patches and updates to improve the systems stability, security, and performance. This maintenance window will also be used to undertake other tasks which require down-time to achieve.
HPE will be upgrading the Slingshot Fabric Manager to the latest supported version as part of their Extended Support Release (ESR). They will also have to update the firmware of all of the Slingshot switches in Setonix. HPE require eight hours before they can hand Setonix back to Pawsey. To ensure the stability of the system before it is returned to service, Setonix may not be returned to full production until Wednesday morning.
Planned work for this window includes:
• Mediaflux server will have the latest bug and security fixes from Rocky Linux
• Mediaflux will be upgraded
• Acacia Ingest will have the latest bug and security fixes from Ceph
• Banksia's servers will have the latest bug and security fixes from Rocky Linux
• Banksia will be upgraded to the latest version of ScoutFS
• Banksia fibre switches will have firmware updates and zoning updates
• Patching of core Pawsey services will be undertaken
• Setonix will have the latest bug and security fixes from SLES 15 applied
• ASKAP Ingest will have a minor Slurm upgrade applied to align with Setonix
